Ramping it up

Went out today in the 70 degree Colorado air for a good 3 hour recon mission at Cheyenne St park, home of the first Mountain States Cup race for the year. I didn't know the exact course so I just rode everything, including lapping the technical sections a number of times. I never really liked those trails as they're pretty wide, very non-technical, and really loose in a lot of spots, but it was still a fun day. I've also been out on the Top Fuel, finally getting everything dialed in and ready to race here in a few weeks. Granted, I may actually race the Superfly for this first race since it's so wide open and smooth. Still need to get the Top Fuel out there to put in a few hot laps and see which is more suited to the course.

Another exciting thing for 2011 is that I'll be fueling up with Honey Stinger products. I haven't had a nutrition sponsor in a few years and was excited to be paired up with a great Colorado based company. Got in some gel which is oh so good. Literally tastes like flavored honey (go figure) and is pretty thin so it goes down easy. I also got in a few of the waffles, and let me tell you, if you haven't tried these yet...do it. They are incredible to say the least! I only ordered 2 on this order to try em, but there will be a case on the way soon.

Hopefully get in another day or 2 of skiing for the year, and then be on to spring/summer!

  1. If Cheyenne course is anything like the last two years I would probably...TT=dually, ST=HT, XC=HT, though I might have ridden the dually in the XC this year as the decent wore on me a bit. Maxxis Aspens were definitely the tire of choice for anyone on Maxxis tires. enjoy the pebble like gravel, not exactly the best trail in colorado.
