2011

Since there's not much to report on in the way of MTB racing as of lately, I will say this. I just discovered a pseudo schedule for the 2011 season and am already getting pretty stoked about it. Tons of racing to be had for sure. Also excited about riding for High Gear/Trek again in the 2011 season. Definitely some cool changes in store for the team next year. As for my exact schedule next year, I haven't quite nailed it all down yet, but I'll try to post details as soon as I have em. Just re-newed my UCI MTB license for next year so the plan is to try and focus in on some key races, but in between I'm just going to try and race as much as possible to build up the fitness and get used to racing on the Pro level.

In the mean time, I'm going to try not to go completely nuts "resting" through the remainder of this month. Took off 3 days in a row last week and was cranky to say the least. Rest can't mean "don't do anything" apparently. I did however get up in the hills this weekend for an epic day on the x-c skis. Went in to one of the 10th mountain division huts through 8in to knee deep powder on Sat, largely by myself...then turned around and headed back out immediately. Having a hard time walking today after 12 mi of skiing through that crap...can't wait for next weekend to go find some more though! May have to start strapping the running shoes on a bit more this month too just to mix it up.

Froze Toes Riding

Well the racing season is quickly coming to an end for me, or has already ended for that matter. Haven't really done much cross this season with the discovery of a couple late season MTB races along with an off-road duathlon a couple weeks ago. This year I've pretty much just decided to take December as my chill out month, and plan to start to crank up the training more seriously in mid Jan. Until then, I'll definitely still be hitting the trails, just no intervals for a while! Otherwise things are pretty mellow here in The Springs with our first good snow in town last week which did allow me to try out my x-c skis a little up in the mountains above Woodland Park last week. For now I think I'm back out for a hike this afternoon being that it is close to 40 degrees here, not bad for December.
